eden signs Armed Forces Covenant

eden PR has signed a pact with the Armed Forces which enshrines its commitment to supporting serving and ex-service personnel in finding work and thriving in the workplace.

The digital PR and communications agency, established in Nottingham in 2000, is committed to supporting its employees with a whole host of benefits, from additional holiday for birthdays to regular tailored 1-1 sessions – and signing the Armed Forces Covenant adds to this holistic approach to wellbeing.

The eden team is made up of PR professionals from a range of diverse backgrounds, including Account Manager Erin Softley, who has a STEM background and is also a medic in the British Army Reserves. Erin joined the business in 2023 and has found the culture and attitude towards her Armed Forces commitments both welcoming and supportive.

Erin said: “eden’s approach to my involvement in the army has been nothing short of commendable, given the fact that it does mean I require time off for lengthy training periods. The Directors have championed my army background from the moment I joined the team and have supported me to manage both my client delivery targets and my training at the busiest times of the year!

Armed Forces Covenant

“Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is an excellent way for businesses to show their support for those who choose to serve in the forces, be it as a reservist like me or as an ex-service person returning to civilian life after time in action. We’d encourage other businesses to sign it too – because it’s a clear signal to potential employees and clients that your organisation is appreciative of and welcoming towards those who serve and have served in the forces.”

Director and Head of New Business at eden PR, Emily Winsor-Russell, added: “We’re very pleased to share that we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, in acknowledgment of the selfless dedication to helping others that Erin has demonstrated in her time with us so far. Erin brings an array of strengths to the business, not only her passion for science and technology clear in her strong STEM background but also her drive to always do what she can to help, be that in the office or outside it.

“Erin has been instrumental in developing a Mental Health policy for eden, undertaking training to be our second Mental Health Workplace First Responder and creating regular, bespoke staff surveys on the topic. We’re proud to support Erin in her Army Reservist training and future activity and would love to see other business in Nottingham and further afield follow our lead in signing the covenant.”

Headquartered in the Lace Market, eden PR is Nottingham’s longest-standing female founded PR agency. The business delivers award-winning PR campaigns for both B2B and B2C clients from across the UK.
