Eden PR supports Big Reading Challenge to give the gift of reading to Notts children
23rd December 2021
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in Nottingham, the Imagination Library is an amazing charity that delivers free books every month to children from birth to age five.
This year, Eden PR provided pro-bono support to the Big Reading Challenge, to help raise awareness to leading businesses, about this incredible initiative that supports the local community.
Helen Hastle from the Dollywood Foundation (that helps deliver the Imagination Library) comments:
“We want to encourage a lifelong love of books and reading by putting books into the hands of children from birth until they turn five.”
Since 2011, the Imagination Library has given out over 347,000 free books to local children, narrowing the disadvantage gap across socio-economic groups and delivering the gift of reading.
Leader of Nottingham City Council, Cllr David Mellen added:
“This scheme not only ignites a love of reading; it is proven to improve the literacy skills of our City’s children, getting them ready for school, helping them achieve more in their journeys through education and, in turn, be more successful in their working lives. Reading with children is one of the best ways to set them up for a bright future.”
It’s not too late to donate and give the gift of reading here.
